CLEMENT ONWUENWUNOR, SAN is an avid litigator and consummate advocate of law. Prior to floating this Law Firm, he had a very successful stint with Gani Fawehinmi Chambers from April, 2001 to 27th of May, 2009 where he cut his teeth in active litigation and advocacy; he joined Gani Fawehinmi Chambers as a Youth Corper and resigned as a Senior Counsel in May, 2009.
While at Gani Fawehinmi Chambers, he was personally involved in prosecuting some celebrated cases in Nigerian such as CHIEF GANI FAWEHINMI VS. PRESIDENT, FRN reported in (2007) 14 NWLR (PT. 1054) 275; a case he successfully prosecuted challenging the payment of salaries and allowances to some selected MINISTERS in Dollars contrary to the provision of our law; MARCEL NNAKWE vs. STATE and EMMANUEL NNAMDI NNAKWE in Appeal No. SC/254/07 decided by the Supreme Court on the attempted murder of the former Director-General of NAFDAC – Prof. Dora Akinyuli; Fidelity Bank Plc. v. The M.T. “Tabora” & others in Appeal No: SC/106/2010 decided by the Supreme Court dismissing Fidelity Bank Plc’s recovery claim of USD8.5million. Other celebrated cases he handled are several of Ibori’s cases; Governor Dariye’s impeachment saga, to mention just a few. He specializes in Corporate/Commercial law, Aviation, Commercial/General litigation, Land Law, Immigration Law and Labour Law.
One of the latest legal feats achieved by the Law Firm was the first ever successful prosecution of Electoral Fraud in Nigeria. The Law Firm was specially engaged by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to prosecute Prof. Peter Ikor Ogban for alteration of election results in the Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial Election and on 25th March, 2021, Prof. Peter Ikor Ogban was convicted and sentenced to a term of imprisonment. This was the first case of Electoral Offense in Nigeria and having enriched our electoral jurisprudence, will act as deterrent against Electoral fraud in future elections by trusted intellectuals and others who are hired to protect the integrity of the electoral process but who choose to sabotage it.
